to innovation made him a celebrated hero in the engineering
community. The promotion enhanced M&E's ability to
recruit top-flight engineers.

- Acid Rain
- We
promoted a US EPA study funded by Ford on acid
rain damage to automobiles and published the findings in The
New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and major daily
newspapers. This was achieved
on behalf of The International Carwash Association, which
was being targeted as the cause of automobile
damage. We repositioned the industry as the solution
to automobile paint damage.
- Hazardous
Waste - While
serving on the New England Council's Hazardous Waste
Committee we arranged editorial board meetings with regional
newspapers and broadcast news outlets to represent industry
viewpoint. Meetings demonstrated concern over
hazardous waste problems and opened trusted dialogue between
the media and New England companies on hazardous waste
issues.
